Color of Male
HEAD:
Lustrous orange red.
NECK: Hackle - lustrous golden red, free from dark striping and lighter shading at lower extremities of hackle feathers, to match saddle.  Front of Neck - medium slaty blue, laced with darker blue.
BACK: Lustrous rich red.
SADDLE: Same as hackle.
TAIL: Main Tail - slaty blue, shafts bluish black.  Sickles & Coverts - lustrous slaty blue; shafts, bluish black.
WINGS: Shoulders & Fronts - slaty blue, evenly laced with darker blue.  Bows - lustrous rich red, to match back.  Coverts - slaty blue, evenly laced with darker blue, forming two distinct bars across wing.  Primaries - even shade of slaty blue, except lower feathers, outer webs of which should be bay; shafts, bluish black.  Secondaries - even shade of slaty blue, exposed portion of outer webs forming wing bay, bay; shafts bluish slate.
BREAST: Slaty blue, laced with darker blue.
BODY & STERN: Body - slaty blue, laced with darker blue.  Stern - fluff, slaty blue, tinged with darker blue.  Lower Thighs - same as body.
UNDERCOLOR: Slaty blue in all sections.

Color of Female
HEAD: Orange red.
NECK: Hackle - light orange, with narrow blue stripe through middle of each feather, terminating in a point near extremity of feather.  Front of Neck - light salmon.
BACK & CUSHION: Even shade of slaty blue, finely and evenly stippled with golden brown.
TAIL: Main Tail - slaty blue, top two feathers finely stippled with golden brown; shafts, bluish slate.  Coverts - same as back.
WINGS: Shoulders, Fronts, Bows and Coverts - even shade of slaty blue, finely an evenly stippled with golden brown.  Primaries - slaty blue, except lower feathers, outer webs of which should be stippled with golden brown.  Secondaries - slaty blue, exposed portion of outer web forming wing bay, bay; shafts, bluish black.
BREAST: Salmon, shading into ashy gray as it blends into body.
BODY & STERN: Body - ashy gray, at sides where surface color blends into that of the back and wings.  Stern - fluff, ashy gray.
LOWER THIGHS: Slaty gray, tinged with salmon.
UNDERCOLOR: Slaty blue in all sections.

Disqualifications
Female with surface of back, body, shoulders, fronts, bows and covert feathers that are solid blue with stippled lacing.

Defects
Lemon or light orange extremities in hackle or saddle of male - Red ticking or lacing in breast of male - Light salmon breast in female - Black or dark striping in hackle or saddle of male - red shafting in sickles and coverts of tail of male - Red lacing in male tail coverts - Penciling and/or vermiculation in female back, body, shoulders, fronts, bow and covert feathers.  These feathers should be stippled over the entire surface right out to the very edge of the feather - Frosty or mooney lacing of female breast feathers - Sooty appearance in breast of female.

Eyes: Reddish Bay
Beak and Legs: Yellow
Ear Lobes: Red
